So I bought "Eric" (number plate!) last summer as a non-runner project and put it in my den(where photos are taken) bodywork & ancillaries all seemed so good as an ornament (& investment)with plans to eventually get it restored & running especially as only 12,000 miles (19,880 km's)However, I have started with a couple of cosmetic bits BUT now decided I have too much else going on so I've put it ALMOST all back together & someone else can take over the baton! As you can see from photos everything is there, it even has tool kit (and holder)original black chrome exhaust in good condition, original mirrors, seat & screen. It even has original decals on petrol tank. The panels are overall very good with some smallmarks but again very original. Frame is all good with very minor surface rust. Now the engine ... I was sold as a non runner and carbs had already been removed& are in a sorry state but there. I hooked up a battery & all electrics work but whenI pressed the starter button - nothing, nada. I don't do mechanics & was going to give itto a garage when tidied up the rest. I don't know but I suspect seized is my honest opinion,I haven't tried to do anything except sprayed a load of WD40 in the carb holes to prevent anyfurther deterioration. I was informed it had been stood for 22 years by a previous ownerwhich on the HPI report shows he owned for 25 years from 1996 - 2021!One key works everything, I have the V5 & it really is a lovely little project for someonemechanically minded. There is a surge in demand for these little compact 400 pocket rocketsright now, especially as the 250/400 2-stroke prices have gone stratospheric & being a Hondait is beautifully put together. It will certainly be a good investment & lets face it, this isn'ta whole lot of cash for a complete, original example (look at prices of NC30's!!!).
